SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!
- Must be 18 years or older to submit.
- To submit you must be the original creator of the work you submitted and have been touched by the power of Brainspotting.
- We love a brief cover letter that tells us where you are from and a little about who you are as a creative and a Brainspotter. Please tell us the name or names of the pieces you are submitting in your cover letter. If you are so moved, our readers love to read a brief description of how Brainspotting connects to your creative experience (maximum 300 words). Please include a third person bio (100 words or less).
- Performance art submissions include performing a song (instrumental or vocal), dance, act, comedy skit, poem, creative writing, improv, and digital art. If we have missed a category you would like to submit in, please email the editor at bonetobrain@gmail.com.
- Email one performance art submission in an MP4 format of a high definition (HD), minimum 720 pixels, video. The video can be a recording of you performing or it can be a photo of your choice with the audio being the submission for the performance art alone (such as, submission of singing a song to a video that has a photo of something that resonates for you with the performance art submission).
- A performance art submission can also be made through submission of one MP3 (minimum 128 kbps, clear quality sound) audio and a landscape photo(s) to accompany the audio which will be converted into a video by the editor. The photo(s) must be a minimum 300 dpi resolution.
- Title all video, audio, and image submissions with your name and a title of the performance art piece. Include the type (i.e. music, dance) and medium (i.e. instrument, props) of the performance art with your submission in your cover letter.
- No re-submission of the same work unless a revision was specifically requested.
- Only one submission per genre (poetry and prose poems, fiction/creative non- fiction, art, performance art) until you have heard back from the editors.
- If your work is accepted it will also be posted on our YouTube channel: “Bone to Brain Journal” https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3hTXF1jj3R4
- We strive to be quick. Please query us if you have not heard back within 60 days of submitting at bonetobrain@gmail.com.
