Kristy Snedden, LCSW

Kristy Snedden, LCSW (Founding Editor/Editor-in-Chief) (she/her) is a trauma psychotherapist and a Brainspotting™ consultant, with a specialty endorsement for Brainspotting with Children and Adolescents. She has expertise in working with trauma, attachment, and creativity. She runs a full-time private practice in northeast Georgia where she treats clients of all ages. Kristy developed and has provided Poetry, Prose, and Brainspotting webinars and Brainspotting Through the Poet’s Eye monthly groups for Brainspotting therapists since 2022. She developed and provides Healing Through the Poet’s Eye groups for the general public and co-developed and provides Your (True) Story groups and writing retreats with Serene Calkins.

In her free time, Kristy is a poet whose poetry appears or is forthcoming in a variety of national and international on-line and print journals and anthologies, most recently storySouth, Door is a Jar, Snapdragon, and CV2. Her poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and for the Pushcart Prize. Kristy serves as the Book Review Editor for Anti-Heroin Chic. Kristy studied at Philip Schultz’s Writers Studio for three years and currently studies privately with Emily Leithauser, MFA, PhD (Morehouse College) and Margaret Greaves, PhD (Skidmore College). When not working or writing, she can be found hiking or hanging out listening to her husband and their dogs tell tall tales. She writes poetry to create islands of calm in our chaotic world and to connect with other humans living on planet Earth.
